Oil Pastel drawing tutorial – step by step

As per my experience there are several ways to make an oil pastel drawing . An oil pastel drawing is usually done by using oil pastel colors including some other colors to make the drawing attractive may be glass marking pencil, 10b pencil, color pencils, black marker, whitner etc

step 1 : ROUGH SKETCH OF DRAWING

Use sharp pointed pencil to make rough sketch of the drawing . Dont make the sketch so dark , make a light rough sketch so that its just visible to you .

step 2 : COLOR THE DRAWING

As you finish the sketch part color the drawing using pastel color .you can color it smooth way or in rough way , if you want the drawing to be look dark then use pastel colors roughly . the problem is if you color the drawing roughly then blending of colors becames difficult . if your the beginner then color your drawing smoothly.

step 3 : BLENDING OF COLORS

This is one of the most important step which makes the drawing attractive . you should be very careful while blending the colors . you can use tissue paper or your own finger for blending . blending is done by rubbing the tissue smoothly over the surface of sheet where the color is applied .

step 4 :FINISHING

Finishing is done by using different material , if u have any dark objects you have to color in this step . it can be made dark by using 10b pencil or glass marking pencil . you can use whitner is some places where you need white color to be applied.
